Conversation with Elizabeth Brim
Sunday, March 14, 2010
· 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Arkansas Arts Center Lower Lobby
The Friends of Contemporary Craft present a “Conversation” with Elizabeth Brim. Work by blacksmith artist Elizabeth Brim is anything but typical. Her pieces consist of tiaras, Sunday hats, and tutus. Having been raised in a female dominated household, Brim remembers the frilly dresses her mother sewed for her and her sister to play in. She describes her art as “playing dress-up,” creating works that allow her to have a good time in the process. She is currently employed at the Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina where she teaches blacksmithing and metal work. Tickets are $15 for FOCC members and $20 for non-members. A light dinner will be served after the lecture. Reservations are required, and should be made by no later than March 5. For more information and to make reservations, please contact Caroline Brown at 501-396-0357 or by email at FOCC@arkarts.com.
