This three-part exhibition brings together the most exciting work in the history of art glass, featuring over 120 works of dazzling color, delicacy and strength. The exhibition features Sonja Blomdahl, The Glass Century and Beyond Blown Glass. Sonja Blomdahl, organized by the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, charts the work of the Seattle glass artist who uses glowing color and elegant form to create works of serenity and power. The Glass Century, organized by the Arkansas Arts Center, explores how art glass changed from decorative to expressive art in the 20th century. Drawn from some of the nation’s finest collections, this exhibition contains spectacular works by major innovators from Tiffany to Chihuly. Beyond Blown Glass, organized by the Arkansas Arts Center, examines contemporary art glass by the most inventive and exciting artists in the field today.
