Auditions for Plays
Children's Theatre holds open auditions for student actors at various times during the year, depending on the needs of each production. The auditions take the form of a theatre class, allowing groups of students to act, sing, dance and interact. Prepared materials are not required. A small school photo is appreciated. Students need to dress comfortably for movement. The student actor positions are unpaid. Auditions are held in the Lower Lobby at the Arkansas Arts Center located at 501 East 9th in Little Rock. Please use the Children's Theatre entrance.

Theatre Classes
Children's Theatre is dedicated to education, offering a variety of quality drama classes and acting workshops throughout the year. The quarterly classes help students develop their imaginations, voices and bodies by teaching theatre skills which help them grow - both as artists and as people To view the theatre classes offered quarterly, click here to visit the Museum School Class Schedule.
Summer Theatre Academy
Summer Theatre Academy is a training program for students ages 10 to 18. STA is an audition-only theater training program that teaches students a basic curriculum of pantomime, voice and diction, improvisation and movement. Students learn theater performing techniques under the direction of skilled theater professionals from across the United States. STA is offered as a standard six-week course or as an abbreviated three-week workshop. The six-week academy will be held June 21 July 30, 2010. The workshops will be offered June 21 July 9 and July 12 July 30. Students attend classes Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Tuition for STA is $750 for the six-week academy and $450 for the three-week workshop. Scholarships are available. To participate in STA, students are required to audition.
