Contemporary Baskets
Between 1982 and 1997 the museum has acquired a representative collection of eighty-one contemporary baskets, the majority a gift of Sanford M. and Diane Besser. Included among the 82 examples are 16 by Ed Rossbach, who is considered the father of contemporary American baskets. Among the artists represented are Dorothy Gill Barnes, Lillian Elliott, John Garrett, Dona Look, John McQueen, Jane Sauer and Kay Sekimachi.
