FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Utah artist to show recent works at Arkansas Arts Center
(LITTLE ROCK, AR) -
Artist Jean Arnold will have approximately twenty-five works on display at the Arkansas Arts Center in the exhibition The Moving Perceptions of Jean Arnold. The exhibition opens on August 22 and runs through October 19, 2003.
Arnold's work is focused on her immediate surroundings including the urban and suburban landscape. Rather then faithfully recording the appearance of her environment, she strives to see it in a context of color, line and shape. Arnold states, "The organic and the man-made are integrated in a dynamic relationship between plants, architecture, landforms and urban clutter. The emerging rhythms of line, form and scale embody an indomitable force - even while the pictorial structure seeks to contain it."
The exhibition will focus on recent pieces, both drawing and painting. Admission is free. For more information, call 501-372-4000 or visit www.arkarts.com/exhibitions
