FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Arkansas Arts Center Celebrates Clinton Library Opening with Studio Series Performance of The Little Baby Snoogle-Fleejer

(LITTLE ROCK, AR) - The Arkansas Arts Center Children's Theatre will present "The Little Baby Snoogle-Fleejer," a performance based on President Jimmy Carter's children's book, as part of the Studio Series on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 and Thursday, November 18 through Saturday, November 20, 2004.

Written by President Carter and illustrated by his daughter Amy, "The Little Baby Snoogle-Fleejer" was adapted for stage by Ron Anderson. The story is about a misunderstood monster and a handicapped boy who become friends because of their dissimilarity from others. The monster, a little baby Snoogle-Fleejer, and the boy, Jeremy, spend their days swimming in the sea together until Jeremy's mother becomes ill. It is only with the help of his unusual friend that Jeremy finds the means to pay for his mother's operation and proves to himself and others that he is strong and brave, despite his disability.

"The Little Baby Snoogle-Fleejer" is a morality tale. President Carter told it to amuse and instruct his children and grandchildren about the importance of accepting and embracing people's differences.

The cast of "The Little Baby Snoogle-Fleejer," directed by John Isner, includes: Nicole Jovanovic as Jeremy and Jer, A.J. Spiridigliozzi as Dad and Snoog, Ashley Wright as Mother, John Allen Riggins as Jimbo, Logan Bost as Hugo, Kate Edwards as Danielle and Alex Speer as Lifeguard.

Individual tickets are $14 and $12 for seniors. To purchase tickets, call the Arkansas Arts Center at 501-372-4000.
