FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Popular Nursery Rhyme Brought to Stage in Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre Production
(LITTLE ROCK, AR) -
The Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre production of “There was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe” opens on Friday, February 4, 2005 and runs through Sunday, February 20, 2005.
Based on the popular Mother Goose nursery rhyme, this well known poem about a mother, her many children and their rather unusual dwelling is brought to the stage in an original play written by Alan Keith Smith and directed by Bradley Anderson. The old woman, just a child at heart herself, adores being surrounded by youth, even if they are living in close quarters. With the help of her friends from Mother Goose Land, there’ll be no need for “sound spankings” tonight.
The cast of “There was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe” includes:
Pam Adam as Shoe Lady; Sky Cardwell as Jumping Joan; Kirby Fullerton as Mary Contrary; Charlie Askew as Wee Willie Winkie; Elias Baer as Little Boy Blue; John Isner as Boniface; Don Rush as Simon; Randee as Bailey Ann; A.J. Spiridigliozzi as Jack B Nimble; Taylor Puckett as Bo Peep; Will Nicholson as Little Boy Down the Lane; Tillman Ross as Robin; and Mikala Steiner, Kristy Barrington, Spivey Woods and Amy Dorsey as Bobble Head People.
Other performances during the Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre season include: “The Time Machine” and “Madeline.” Individual tickets are $14. To purchase tickets, call the Arkansas Arts Center at 501-372-4000 or visit www.arkarts.com.
