"Queen of Cakes" to be featured at Fine Arts Club Annual Meeting and Fundraiser

(LITTLE ROCK, AR) - Sylvia Weinstock, owner of Sylvia Weinstock Cakes Ltd., in New York, will be the featured speaker at the Fine Arts Club of Arkansas Annual Meeting and Fundraiser on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at the Arkansas Arts Center, 9th and Commerce Streets.

Weinstock will present an insightful lecture on her life, business and incredible talent. During the program, she will demonstrate her technique by decorating three cakes which will be auctioned to the audience. She will also sign copies of her book “Sweet Celebrations: The Art of Decorating Beautiful Cakes.”

Weinstock has designed cakes for Donald Trump, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, Oprah Winfrey and numerous other celebrities, royals, politicians, TV personalities, celebrated physicians, economists, publishers and business people. Named "New York's reigning cake diva" by InStyle magazine and "the Leonardo da Vinci of wedding cakes" by Bon Appetit, she has received many accolades from various magazine publications, including In Touch, In Style, Neiman Marcus' InCircle, Modern Bride, and Lustre.

The Fine Arts Club event begins with a coffee and book signing at 9:45 a.m. The program will begin at 11 a.m., followed by a luncheon held in the Alice Pratt Brown Atrium. Cost for the lecture only is $20. Cost for the coffee, lecture and luncheon is $50.
