Arkansas Arts Center Announces 2006 Season
(LITTLE ROCK, AR) -
The Arkansas Arts Center is pleased to announce its 2005-2006 season schedule. The season includes 16 exhibitions at the Arkansas Arts Center, three exhibitions at the Arkansas Arts Center Community Gallery, six Children’s Theatre productions and three Studio Series productions.
The Arkansas Arts Center exhibitions include:
July 1 – August 21, 2005 Arnold Bittleman: A Drawings Retrospective (Organized for the Arkansas Arts Center by Curator of Art Brian Young)
July 15 – August 28, 2005 Recent Acquisitions: Arkansas Arts Center Foundation Collection
August 12 – October 9, 2005 Come One, Come All: Judy Onofrio
September 2 – October 23, 2005 Kickin’ It with Joyce J. Scott
September 9 – November 13, 2005 Silverpoint by Carol Prusa (Presented in conjunction with Southeastern College Art Conference)
October 21 – December 31, 2005 10th National Drawing Invitational
November 11 – December 31, 2005 33rd Annual Toys Designed by Artists
December 2, 2005 – January 8, 2006 2005 Collectors Show & Sale
January 20 – April 16, 2006 African Masterpieces from the New Orleans Museum of Art

October 28 – November 13, 2005 The Legend of Robin Hood (A new play celebrating an enduring legend)
December 2 – 18, 2005 The Adventures of Paddington Bear (A charming musical from the stories by Michael Bond)
February 3 – 19, 2006 The Science Fair: Unplugged (A brand new play)
March 31 – April 16, 2006 The Emperor’s New Clothes (Adapted from the tale by Hans Christian Anderson)
May 5 – 21, 2006 The Frog Prince (A new musical telling of a favorite traditional folktale)
The Studio Series productions include:
October 11 – 15, 2005 The Red Badge of Courage (Adapted for the stage by Tom Olson from the book by Stephen Crane)
February 21 – 25, 2006 African Tales (Held in conjunction with the exhibition African Masterpieces from the New Orleans Museum of Art)
April 25 – 29, 2006 Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Written by Steve Martin; Winner of the 1996 New York Outer Critics’ circle Awards for best play and best playwright)

Posters: Commemorative posters of each Children's Theatre production are available for $10
Public Showings: 7:30 p.m. Friday; Morning, Matinee and Evening performances available depending on weekend, Saturday; 2 p.m. Sunday
