FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SECAC Fellowship winner to exhibit at Arts Center
(LITTLE ROCK, AR) -
The Arkansas Arts Center will exhibit 13 works by artist Carol Prusa in the exhibition “Silverpoint by Carol Prusa,” which runs from September 9 through November 13, 2005 in the Sam Strauss, Sr. Gallery.
The Southeastern College Art Conference Fellowship was awarded to Carol Prusa in 2004. Her exhibition is the culmination of a year’s work created during this fellowship. Some of Prusa’s works measure 7 by 4 feet, an unusually large dimension for the demanding and exacting media of silverpoint. Her work is a rich blend of organic imagery in the graceful style of art nouveau, but within its density and entangled complexity exist a system that makes sense.
Prusa is an associate professor of Art at Florida Atlantic University. As a professional artist, she has been selected for numerous regional, national and international exhibitions.
Admission is free. For additional information call 501-372-4000 or visit www.arkarts.com.
