Part-Time Facilities Associate

Responsibilities consist of maintaining the cleanliness of bathrooms, refill/stock paper towels, toilet paper and soap dispensers. Assist with set up of events on weekends. Maintenance of the facility/building and grounds to include raking and disposing of leaves and refuse. Monitor all outside fountains for removal of leaves, checking strainer density. Additional duties include vacuuming, mopping, cleaning windows, stocking the copy machines with paper. Follow all safety regulations. Ability to read and write simple correspondence and prioritize multiple assignments; positive communication skills are necessary. Computer proficiency is required. Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds is mandatory. Valid driver’s license is required. Must be dependable.

Total hours for this position are generally 12 to 16 hours per weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

Start times are as follows:


  • 8:00 a.m. (When Museum School classes are in session starting at 9 a.m. or if cleanup of Friday evening event is required prior to building opening at 10 a.m.)
  • 9:00 a.m. (If there are no special event needs prior to building opening at 10 a.m.)


  • 9:00 a.m. (Gives you time to clean up public areas prior to the 11 a.m.opening)
  • 10:00 a.m. (If these are no special event needs prior to building opening at 11 a.m.)

Full-time Visitor Services Representative

The ideal candidate will possess an energetic and positive attitude that will present a great first impression to visitors and callers of the Arkansas Arts Center. The Full-Time Visitor Services Representative will work Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. The representative must be willing to work alternate or special event shifts, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and/or after regular business hours as needed.


Provide excellent customer service while ensuring the safety of visitors, staff and art work; assist with visitor greeting and orientation; facilitate general communication about the center and surrounding areas via telephone and in person; provide high-quality service with ticket, membership, and merchandise purchases, as well as visit planning suggestions; answer phone calls and transfer to appropriate staff; oversee and promote Membership, Museum Shop, Museum School, and Children’s Theatre sales, as well as on-site donations; serve as a primary contact for school show reservations, which includes daily interaction with educators throughout the state; collect and maintain accurate data from customers within database.


Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to provide the highest level of customer service at all times; ability to listen actively to visitors and callers, and be responsive to their needs and expectations; ability to maintain a consistent professional manner in dealing with the public as well as with the staff; ability to work with multiple departments and be flexible with last minute changes.
