Yosemite from Views of America, 1982
gelatin silver print
Arkansas Arts Center Foundation Collection: Gift of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Davis, 1983.

An exquisite selection of 17 colorful drawings and a gelatin silver print by world famous photographer Ansel Adams, these works take a look at the unique ways American artists have used nature and landscape as inspiration.

America has a long tradition of grandious landscape paintings dating back to the Hudson River School. This selection of drawings from the early 20th Century have a touch of this tradition, but often create fantastic landscapes with contemporary and abstract imagery.
