Judith Betts Mardi Gras 1982 watercolor on paper
Arkansas Arts Center Foundation Collection: Gift of the Mid-Southern Watercolorists, 1982.
This exhibition was inspired by a former Artmobile exhibition of the same name. This exhibition allows viewers to take a look at the southern culture through artists’ eyes. The South has rich traditions- friendliness, influential music, spirituality, storytelling and closeness to the land. Some would say that currently southern culture is on its way toward becoming a sentimental thing of the past. This exhibit asks the viewer to contemplate what IS southern culture?
