Toys Designed by Artists
In 1973, the Arkansas Arts Center initiated an exhibition of Toys Designed by Artists, inspired by Alexander Calder’s circus figures of the late 102-‘s and early 1930’s. The tradition continues bi-annually and challenges artists to take the concept t of “toy” and make a personal expression- a piece of art.
The 39th Toys Designed by Artists is open to all artists and media. Successful entries are creative, original, function or non-functional works featuring excellence of design and craftsmanship. Entered work must be completed during in during the prior two years of the exhibition and must not be previously exhibited at the Arkansas Arts Center.
The exhibition is scheduled to occur in 2014-2015. An electronic entry form will made available in 2014 which contains further information.
