Tired of pesky mosquitoes? Bats can eat up to 600-1000 mosquitoes per hour plus other pest bugs. Spend a fun four hours using basic woodworking skills to build your own bat box. No special skills required; all skill levels welcome! Tuition includes price of all materials.

Introduces the fundamental techniques of woodturning, beginning with spindle turning and followed by faceplate or bowl turning. Instructor-led demonstrations are followed by hands-on experience. A $25 materials fee is due at first session. All skill levels welcome!

Learn basic and proper tool / equipment operation. Gain practical knowledge of hardwood properties, gluing techniques, mortise and tenon joinery, use of woodworking jigs, and applying finishes. Develop fundamental saw skills with a strong emphasis on safety. In consultation with instructor, each student will design and build at least one table. Materials cost approximately $40-$60, depending on individual wood choice.

Discover the quiet joy of woodworking with hand tools. Planes, chisels, spokeshaves, and scrapers only work well when tuned and sharpened correctly. Learn to select and prepare tools for maximum performance. Explore layout and cutting of basic joints, mortise and tenon, and dovetail. Suggested reading: The Anarchist's Tool Chest by Christopher Schwarz, Lost Arts Press.
