THEATRE POLICIES for School GROUPS
Theatre doors open 30 minutes prior to the performance. School groups are seated in the order of arrival on the day of the performance. Please do not check in until your entire group has arrived on site. All seats will be filled when your group is seated. Groups will not be able to save seats for individuals that do not arrive on time.
SPECIAL SEATING NEEDS
Please contact Visitor Services as soon as possible to make arrangements for special needs. The theatre includes four wheelchair spots, two in the front and two in the back of the theatre. Accomodations are also available for visual and hearing impairments. We make every effort to ensure your visit is comfortable and enjoyable.
If additional seats are needed for students, teachers, or chaperones, please contact Visitor Services at least 5 business days prior to the performance date (as stated on your contract) at 501.372.4000 and ask for availability. Please do not ask parents/chaperones to call as we do not sell single tickets to our school performances. For the safety and security of your students, additional tickets may not be purchased for any parent/chaperone without prior approval from the lead teacher. For this reason, all reservation adjustments must come directly from the lead teacher listed on the contract. Due to the limited amount of seating for our school performances, seats are limited to students from the attending schools, teachers, and parents/chaperones. We ask that parents/chaperones refrain from bringing additional children (brothers, sisters, friends, etc.) along to attend the performance.
The safety and security of the students and visitors attending our school performances is very important. For this reason, specific school performance information (e.g. length, time, date, etc.) pertaining to a school field trip will only be given to the lead teacher/coordinator of the field trip. Parents, guardians, or chaperones that are looking to find out more information regarding their child's field trip are asked to contact the school directly.
Restrooms are located in the theatre lobby. We ask that your group be seated before making a trip to the restroom. Students must be accompanied by an adult when using our restroom facilities.
ELECTRONIC DEVICES and PERSONAL BELONGINGS
Cell phones and other electronic devices should not be used in the theatre. Lights and sounds from electronic devices can be a disturbance to actors on stage and distract other audience members. Please encourage students to refrain from wearing shoes or accessories that light up on the day of the performance. In addition we ask that students leave iPods, cameras, backpacks and other valuables at school or on the bus.
Taking photographs, videos or audiotapes during the performance is prohibited.
Food (including candy), drinks, and gum are not allowed in our theatre during school performances.
POST PLAY AND EXITING THE THEATRE
If your time permits, please remain seated for an in-theatre question and answer discussion. This allows children to ask a cast or stage member questions about the performance. Following the discussion, you may exit the theatre. For your convenience, the four doors located to your right (while seated in the theatre) may be used to exit to the sidewalk outside the building.
In the event of hazardous weather or other inclement conditions, the Arkansas Arts Center Children's Theatre will perform as scheduled provided that Little Rock Public Schools are open. If Little Rock Public Schools are closed or if other circumstances dictate closure, we will cancel the performance. Closure information will be posted on our Facebook page, and provided to the media. If the Arkansas Arts Center Children's Theatre must cancel, your school will be notified promptly and every attempt will be made to reschedule your field trip. If your school cannot be accommodated in our current season, we will offer a credit to a future production. In the event that your school is unable to attend a performance because of school closure and/or hazardous weather conditions in your area, we ask that you notify us immediately that morning by calling 501.372.4000 or email email@example.com. We will make every attempt to reschedule your students for another performance of the current production or another performance in our current season.
